I was poking around a few multi fandom games I've seen/heard of an LJ. I was interested in trans_9 since the first time I heard about it, but I've never played in a fandom game, because I'm afraid of bad characterization and stuff. But Trans 9 seems a cut above the others, is a deep-space sci-fi, allows comic book characters, and has no Batman.

I think I'm going to apply for Terry.

It's funny - people keep telling me that they think Scarlet is too masculine, or that she's butch, or that she's not girly enough. People, please. She is a captain of a smuggling ship. The crew tends to just sit around in space. I'm sure that the doldrums there are even worse then on water. She has to be manly; she's on a ship full of lonely men. She's not going to be a little prissy girl like Keira Knightly.

Is anyone else getting tired of the Dark Knight viral campaign? It looks like a good movie, but I swear to god, if I see one more 'Why so serious' icon or a 'vote Harvey Dent' sticker, I am going to start stabbing things. BATMAN FANS: IF YOU ARE GOING TO SHAKE IT OVER THE JOKER, DO SO WERE I DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH IT, JESUS CHRIST.

Funny thing about this rp - all throughout the 'get your starter' thread, I was really impatient, just absolutely dying to get my starter and jump into the real game. But as soon as I started that thread, I had no idea what to do. It's mainly because I don't know what the right etiquette on this board is. Can I jump into someone else's thread, or do I have to start my own? I have no idea. DX

I'm going to see Kung Fu Panda today, at the recommendation of my Tai Chi instructor. I think it looks good.

On the vein of Tai Chi, two weeks ago I messed up my right knee doing stretches improperly. I managed to get through the whole practice session on the banged up knee, and was more or less okay. The pain went away a few days later. But I went for a walk yesterday, and it suddenly came back. And so I had to go through another session with a bad knee. ajghfdjkgfd arg.

My office chair broke! D: I'm using a spare chair, but it has no arm rests, so balancing my tablet is really difficult. See, I have to hold my tablet at an angle so I don't strain my wrists as much. Usually, I lay it at the edge of the desk and balance it with the arm rests, and now that I have none, it's... difficult. Blah.

Took the SAT today. Four and a half hours. Oh god.

So, my internet it back up. This time, the crash was not AOL's fault, but rather my mom's, for changing debit cards and not updating the provider about this.

Augh, I have to get six missing assignments into my math class by friday (without a calculator), take my Astronomy final tomorrow, and do the 3 hour long AP US history test on friday morning. adfjdkjdagjdfg streeeeessss

And a quick note to those in/interested in the game; I'm going to go ahead and start it sometime this afternoon. Hopefully some activity will encourage others to join.

So, I'm back from my sister's graduation. The ceremony itself was nice - her college is just about twenty miles from Four Corners, and was originally opened for the Navajo res, so its got a huge diversity of students. At the ceremony, half the students had eagle feathers instead of tassels, and one guy had a coyote skin and a blanket instead of the black cap and gown. The food we had at my sister's party was good, and her friends were rather cool.

There was a downside, of course. My sister is manic depressive - a trait she inherited from my mother's side of the family. (I just got acute anxiety) She'd been procrastinating on finding a place to live for the summer, and her lease ended today. She was worried about needing grad school. And, of course, she'd been drinking pretty heavily the past few weeks. There was a lot of shouting, and a lot of crying. I just tried to stay out of that mess. (She has got a place to stay now, though. A woman in town was renting out rooms and my sister got one.)

But more on the plus side, I got some cool stuff down there. Three hats - an indie/punk black one with a white rose painted on the side, a gray and red plaid one, and a tweed paper boy hat (sis gave me the last one). I also got a very nice burgundy corduroy and wool jacket from my sis. And in the local bookstore, I got a copy of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. (Both the novel AND the comic. JOY)

I'm doing pretty good, now. I need to go look for a job, and maybe get DQ ice cream. And start that rp, of course.

So, I saw Forbidden Kingdom yesterday. I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. Yes, everything was rather predictable. Yes, the New York sub-plot would have worked better in the 90s (seriously, are there any gangsters like that AT ALL anymore?). And, yes, it was derivative of Wizard of Oz. Still, special effects were stunning, martial arts were awesome. Jackie Chan fighting Jet Li with a staff? Man, that was like porn for me. I love staff forms. That was AMAZING.
It was silly, it was weird, it was great. Go see it.

Heh. I train with a guy called 'The Monkey King' by a lot of other martial artists. He specializes in monkey style kung fu, and he even paints his face like a baboon when he does demos. I'd like to find out what he thought about it.

So, a pokemon RP got started on my forum. All the players are kinda having an issue with the GM, but it's going relatively smoothly for a WoA rp. (However, the server's been down for a while, so it's kinda hit a grinding halt) All of the characters are just setting out from Pallet... except for me. I worked it out with the GM so I could be someone's older brother and use my team from FR.

And lo, did doodles come out of this.

And my friend D turns 17 this Friday.

.....and just continuing along that line of thought, I turn 17 on February 5th. Which is actually probably gonna suck, because it's our state's caucus AND Mardi Gras, so I'll probably hear either 'Vote for -candidate-' or 'Gimme beads and I'll strip!' all day long instead of 'Happy Birthday!' Bleeeeeeeh.

Soooo, in vague attempt at doing what I set out to do with this thing (I seriously forgot about it. AFTER A DAY. *facepalm*) let's go on some art rambles from an rp I'm in on my forum. About ZOMBIES. And STONERS.
