FLIST, I NEED YOUR HELP!

So, I didn't have a costume planned for halloween because I wasn't expecting to do anything. But my new roomie invited me to go trick or treating, and since I haven't done that in years, I was like 'hell yeah'. But again, I don't really have a costume.

BUT

I've decided to throw together a last-minute steampunk costume. But I need advice on how to make it look better. Here's the base idea for it:

I really like the hat, goggles, and Rocketeer jacket, but I'm not so sure what else to do with it. All I could really think of for the pants is khaki slacks, and I'll wear my work boots for shoes. Shirt underneath will probably be black. May also include fingerless gloves.

I'm going for a sort of treasure hunter look, so I may go buy some cheap jewelry to use as baubles hanging from belt loops/neck/wrists/whatever. Might also wear some gaudy clip-on earrings. So, any suggestions? I've got three days and about $15 to $20 to spend on this, so it can't be too extravagant, but little things to add would be nice.

My muses seem too be on a rather long coffee break. Hence the lack of art. Muses are, from left, two of the winged albino ferrets, another ferret, Socrates (or just Socs), Fellow, another ferret, and murmur. murmur is really more of an anti-muse, but the thought of a terrible shadow monster playing videar games made me laugh.

My dad and I just went and saw Doomsday. It's a dystopian sci-fi/action flick with obvious kick-backs to Madd Max. Very much shoot-em up, the plot is weak at best and non-existent at worst. But does that mean you shouldn't go see it? Of course not! This is the kind of dumb flick that would work best in summertime, but is just fine now. Gather some friends, get some popcorn, and let your brain ooze for a few hours.

Also, a forum I co-run has been down for some time. We finally got this message from the host; Error

If anyone knows what this means and can help us out, it would be really appreciated!

So, I finally got to go use the gift card I got for my birthday. I got some nice watercolor paper, a new pencil sharpener, a new gum eraser, and some nice wood pencils. I still have about twenty dollars on the card, too. I'm considering investing in some copic markers, as another attempt to broaden my scope of mediums. Any suggestions? Is there a better brand, or a cheaper one that's good for beginners? Any nice tutorials around?

I picked up a Korean comic today at a book store. 'A Thousand and One Nights' - basically a re-imagining of the classic story. The art is similar to Japanese Anime, but with some slight differences. The story is rather intriguing so far, and the amount of detail, both cultural and artistic, is stunning.

Oh yeah, I also got some cute dinosaur stickers at the art store. They now decorate my sketchbook and cell phone.

My friend Reggie is taking me to a rave in a few days. The school's putting it on, so it'll likely suck, but we have a rather nice group of friends going, so we can make it fun.

BUT Reggie and I have never been to a rave before. Sure, we know what they are, but we've experienced one. So, I have a question; what kind of garb would be considered standard to a rave? Normal I don't care about clothes, but Reggie wants to dress the two of us up in some fun outfits. However, we don't know what would be best.

Anyone have any suggestions?
