This afternoon, my family's female tabby cat, George, had to be put to sleep. She had problems with her blood chemistry, and the vets thought it was an internal rupture or infection. While things could have been done to help, it would have been way too expensive, and she had low chances of pulling through.

I loved her, and I'll miss her. I'm sorry that I never made an icon for her.

And I'll be okay, if anyone is wondering. This is the fifth pet death I've experienced in my life, and the ninth general death. I've learned that it's stupid to mourn and be depressed at death. I believe in reincarnation, and either George is living it up somewhere awesome as a person, or she's being treated as a queen in India. Either way, it's good for her. And I'm going on with my life. Don't expect less art or posting or anything from me; if anything, I'll be more prolific, because this is a reminder that life is short, and we should do the best with what we have.

I have to say, I admire how philosophically you're taking this.
It feels odd to say that I'm sorry to hear about it when you seem to have accepted it already, but I truly am.

Well, I've been through a lot of deaths by now - both pet and human. And I've realized that in general, it's pointless to let something depressing take over your life. I cry initially, but I don't let sorrow rule me. I believe we should celebrate life, not stay fixated on death.

But thanks any ways. I appreciate the sentiment.

Aw, that's sad. From the picture at least, it looks like the kitty had a good life. *hugs*

George's family is a group of semi-feral cats in farm land. Most of the kittens don't live past their first year, because of either illness, starvation, or predators. My sister chose to adopt George, and spared her that life. She adapted to city life really quickly - she got fatter and lived longer then any of her siblings. She was a sweet cat, and she got a really good life.
