So, I sketched quite a bit in the past month. Guess today's an art day, then.

I've been seeing a lot of steampunk costumes from various cons floating around the internet lately, so I did a quick sketch of a steampunk-ish girl. I'd kind of like to do something like this for a steampunk costume, if I get to go to any cons in the next year or so.

Sketch of my superhero character Flux and his girlfriend Amelia. I... do not like the way this came out. Flux is way out of scale, and I couldn't quite get Amelia's body and face down on paper the way I see it in my head.

Sketch of Princess Tutu. I tried watching that anime a few years ago, but didn't get very far into, and assumed each episode followed the same formula. Well, I gave it another shot recently and found that I really like it. It's an interesting examination of fairytales. So, yeah, doodle of Tutu. Ballerinas are difficult to draw - I had a hard time figuring out how the raised leg can actually do that and still be attached to the hip. And that's even working with reference photos. >.<

My character Rei, in his superhero'ing costume. Well, kind of. He isn't really much of a superhero, but he is registered as one. The hat looks terrible here, I was using the wrong style of fedora as reference.

Colored, full-body sketch of the same costume. Used the right kind of hat for reference. Mostly just did this for Trans_9's recent masquerade ball.

Speed-sketch of my character Xo, working on his burn scar and making sure I can draw his face consistently.

Window Cat! And Balcony Dog! Yeah, just some practice in drawing animals, using photos I've found online as reference.

And finally, sketch of my alt avatar on Gaia. Just because.

In other news, I've started reading Homestruck. That... comic? Can it really be called that? Is... strange. I just finished Act 2, and while it's interesting, it moves rather slowly. Still, the themes being presented and the way the story moves along, flipping between perspectives and time-lines, it really interesting.
