So, guess what I finally got around to scanning today?

That's right, pokemon doodles!

So, a month or so ago, I restarted my LeafGreen game. I felt like the game I had going was... kind of bad. My team was bad, my strategies were bad... I felt like I needed a clean start. So, I rebooted the game, and wound up doodling a lot from it. But before we get to those doodles, let's check up on my Diamond team real quick.

Since we last saw Team Diamond, Imp evolved from a buziel into a (poorly drawn) floatzel.

Camphor the stunky evolved into a skutank.

All those poffins I fed her lead to her becoming a poffin junkie.

And Minu the bunneary evolved into a lopunny.

When Minu evolved, he gained the ability 'Cute Charm'. That was the day he became a massive poke-slut.

Of course, that meant he had to put up with females of other species being infatuated with him. He... was not too thrilled about certain species.

Bonzai also made his final evolution. But for some reason I never drew that. Hrm.

Shouru didn't evolve, since she'd already made her final evolution, but I drew her anyways.

Moving along, let's meet team LeafGreen!

This is Ami, my trainer, and Kanchan, my starter. Ami has a name phonetically similar to the person that first introduced me to pokemon, back in third grade, by way of giving me three cards: an eevee, a diglet, and a fire energy.

Ami the trainer dreams of being a pokemon ranger after she has collected all her badges. She's a real out-doorsy type of gal, and a lot of how she chooses her team is based on how useful they could be in the wild.

Speaking of Pokemon Rangers, this would be the main reason why I dislike that game. SOLANA. PUT. ON. SOME. PANTS.

Seriously, what type of park/wilderness ranger in the real world would go out like that? From personal experience, I can say that mountains, forests, and large bodies of water have all sorts of things that could scratch up your legs, and that you seriously want really good, sturdy shoes if your job makes you run around in the wild all day. Ami would never be caught dead in one of the outfits from Pokemon Ranger.

Enough of my rants. Here's my starter, Kanchan! I've never used a bulbasaur as a starter, but I've been wanting to for a while. The choice to use one lead me to want to use pokemon I don't normally favor in my team. Which helped for developing a character for Ami.

Here's Kanchan when he was a bebe. His name is a Hindu name meaning 'Tree'.

And Kanchan again as an Ivysaur. He always has a red bandanna around his neck - though, as a Venusaur, it may very well be a red table clothe...

Next is Ditto, my dugtrio. When I named him, I forgot that there was a pokemon species named 'ditto'. Go me.

I think diglett and dugtrio are pretty darn adorable. Though, Ditto defies logic by being able to learn 'scratch' and 'slash'. (I would have drawn something about that, but I think it would have just ended up as an Awkward Zombie rip off, so I didn't.)

Next up is my haunter, Hod! I fucking love Hod. He really is the core of my team - he's got some of the best stats, and wicked good attacks. I feel like I'm closer to him then anyone else on my team, even though I caught him as a haunter, not a ghastly, so I didn't evolve him.

I did also catch a ghastly, though, a female that I named Hel. For those of you not up on your Norse mythology, Hod is the blind god of darkness and cold who was tricked by Loki into killing Balder. Hel is the goddess of the underworld, and daughter of Loki. In short: sometimes my nerddoms bleed into one another.

Case in point: haunter totally makes me think of the Tom Waits song Table Top Joe.

This is Labek, my dodrio! I really like doduo and dotrio, but I've never used them before. So I am now.

One of the things that I like about doduo/dodrio is that they're multi-headed kiwis/ostriches. And that's damn cool.

Not to mention adorable.

Okay, so, as much as I dislike the Pokemon Ranger game, I will admit, that one leader that rides a dodrio is pretty badass. I would totally ride a dodrio around if they were real.

So, another pokemon that I like but never use is vulpix. This is either because the game I had didn't have vulpix, or that I had a fire pokemon on my team already and wasn't willing to part with it. So this time around my team has a vulpix named Wu.

You may have noticed Wu only has five tails, not six. This was actually intentional on my part, due to the 'dex entry, which states that a vulpix is born with one white tail, which splits into more tails as it ages. So, Wu was not yet old enough to have all six of her tails.

I also recently evolved Wu into a ninetales. Funny thing: I've know for a long time that ninetales is based on a Kitsune, but it was only very recently that I realized that arcanine is supposed to be a Fu Dog, even though I've known about Fu Dogs longer then I have Kitsunes.

Haaa Wu has emo hair.

This is Viktor, a gyarados I had on my team shortly before I got...

Posideon (yes, I know it's misspelled, I need to go by the name rater's and fix it) the lapras! As of right now, this is the only drawing of him, as I only had him for a few days. But again, mythology naming! This time for the Greek god of the sea.

And finally, Ironhide, the rhydon.

Ironhide is a temporary edition, who may or may not be replacing Ditto once I get him up to level. This is for two reasons; the first is because I'm trying to not use a team that I assembled 25% of the way through the game for the entire game like I have previously; the second is because Ditto has pretty poor stats, and isn't too effective in battle.

And here's a look at 'honorary members' of the team - those that I used early on and got attached to, but don't use any more.

Remy, a raticate.

Finch, a fearow.

Belle, a butterfree. Funny thing: I'm not too fond of butterfree, but the only decorative keychain I have on my key ring is a little butterfree I got in third grade.

A finally, Tokchu the parasect.

Oh, and the coolest thing ever happened in this game. I caught a dratini in the Safari Game using a super rod. I didn't even know they could be found in the Safari. I thought they were only found in the casino.

That concludes the LG drawings. But I'm not quite done yet. I have some Mystery Dungeon doodles, too!

My main team on Mystery Dungeon is my player character, a mudkip named Amred, and my partner, a torchic named Pecho.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again: Mystery Dungeon is the cutest game ever. I especially like the little caterpie that looks up to your team so much. So I'm-a give him an autograph. Or as best one can with paw/flipper things.

D'AAAAWWWWWWWWW

And there you go.

In other news, I really need to remember to use sunscreen on my shoulders. The weather has only been nice for two weeks and I've managed to get a sunburn three times while wearing tank tops.
