Sooo, I went to a con a few weeks back. And I completely forgot to post any of my photos of it until one of [livejournal.com profile] cloudsnapper's posts today kinda reminded me. So here they are!

So, of course, the first picture I took was of a Rorschach cosplayer. Funny story - later in the day, this guy was walking around out of costume, except for the mask. He had on a panda hat, and a shirt that said 'Do you believe in love?' My buddy X went up to him, having mocked him before using quotes from the comic, and asked 'Do you believe in American love?' Rorschach slapped him. It was awesome.

The umbrella corp guy and his zombie! (That was the same zombie that my friend D used as a stripper pole last year.)

Dead Light cosplayer.

I... don't know what this is a cosplay of. D took the camera for this, so I'm not really sure what it is.

The WoW people! These guys were two of a group of about ten people that had yellow exclamation points on their heads. If you talked to them, they told you they were an NPC and offered you a quest. D, myself, and our other friend there, Dels, did the quest and got one gold piece in the end. It was fantastic.

More Umbrella Corp cosplayers. There's always a billion of these.

Funny thing about this photo. I really wasn't trying to get a picture of the FF cosplayers, I was trying to get a picture of the TF2 spy behind them. I just forgot to zoom in.

The Ghostbusters! These were the best costumes at the con, no doubt about it.

Gijinka Project?

One of the better Sweeney Todd cosplays.

And my group, the Highway Pirates! From left: D, Dels, and myself. I was adjusting my glasses in this image - I wasn't trying to look like an arrogant, annoyed minion.

To take these pictures, we asked a sweet young woman on her way inside to give us a hand. D kept assuring this young woman that we weren't going to kill her. I tried, too, but 'Yeah, we're just highway pirates!' and 'Don't worry, we don't kill people, just steal from them' wasn't helping.

D and I seem totally stoked about the idea of killing each other. Dels seems to delight in her minons turning on one another.

In case you've been wondering about the pink cat thing and the pikachu, the cat is D's, which she bought there, and the pikachu is mine, also bought there. (I've named him Peanut. He's really soft and huggable, and he sort of scares my cats. He's an excellent pillow.)

Let's play 'How many things can we make Del hold?' I'm sure she could figure out a way to kill you with each one.

D, bein' all cool.

Me, being a bit slap-happy at about 2pm of a very loooong day.

The freaking PHENOMENAL Howl cosplay. We talked to the cosplayer - they made the wings and wig by hand, and sewn the fluffly suit together. They said it took more then 100 hours to make, and was worth it (if sort of hot in the sun)

'Amred! Take a picture of those hot chicks over there!'
'....you take the picture.'
'But you're better at it!'
Well, fuck you, D, you lazy bitch.

I wish the new TMNT movie hadn't sucked so bad...

While I was taking this photo, this girl's friends started humming the chocobo riding song. I refrained from making any dirty jokes.

A WoW babe.

When I saw Dr. Horrible, I ran over to him and started telling him how awesome he is, and how glad I was that Dr. Horrible was at NDK. He sort of smiled and nodded, and then said 'Turn around'. I did, and practically ran into a 6'7" Captain Hammer. I sort of jumped and yelled, then said, 'Goddamn, you are tall.'
He responded with a grin, and the quip, 'And evidentially rather sneaky.'
...yeah. These guys were cool.

One of the many many steampunks! I wish I had got a photo of his gun - it was the same nerf gun that I had, but painted really cool to make it look antique.

The cosplay quartet! (If the clarinetist hadn't been a part of the WoW quest, we probably would have never listened to these guys...)

The very awesome all-ladies DMC group. They made their props, and have a livejournal were you can order custom props made.

Oddly enough, we only saw one lolita girl this year.

I dunno what this is, but it's cool.

Admit it. This is kinda cute.

The very cool Daft Punk cosplayer. His head even had an LED panel that scrolled 'DAFT PUNK' over and over.

This was the 'slave girl' of one of the WoW NPCs. She was adorable, just because her shield was bigger then she was.

The Ghostbusters car! (Last year, the same group had a Jurassic Park Jeep)

And they support Harvey Dent. How awesome is that?

So, the rig on top of the car was really just an elaborately disguised stereo system.

Dr. Horrible hijacked it to play his musical, and then sing along to You'll Be a Dentist.

He then donned some ghostbustin' gear and started dancing to techno music...

...a zombie nurse joined him. XD

The Ghostbusters finally got their car back, and turned on the flashing lights on the top of the car. It was so badass.

...huh. I don't remember taking this photo. So that means that this was when Dels had the camera.

Eehehehehe! This was the weird - but awesome - little dancing boy that Dels and I kept seeing all weekend. He was very entertaining, and had mad skills, to be able to dance on roller blades.

...I wish D and Dels would have told me what it was they took photos of...

Some pokemanz.

I took this picture just so that it would give me something to do other then running past these people yelling 'YIFF YIFF YIFF YIFF YIFF!' I'm a terrible person, yes.

The Mario princesses.

IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME, PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME

The lone Farscape cosplayer. They were really happy when I recognized their costume - seems in three days, I was the only person familiar with the show.

And last, but certainly not least, the amazing Gundam cosplayer. Their suit made them about 7 feet tall, and it lit up along the face and wings. It was fucking badass.

My friend X was there, too, as a character from Guyver. I didn't get any photos, and I don't know the character, but it included a mullet wig and green aviator glasses.

His girlfriend, Kya-chan, was there too, but I never saw them together, and I didn't recognize her when I saw her. But I later found out that she'd done an adorable Nausicaa cosplay. I'd seen her around, but never went and asked for a photo. Too bad.

These pictures are amazing, this con looks like it was an incredible amount of fun.

And that quest thing sounds like an awesome time too, that's a really good idea! What did you have to do, go around talking to the NPC's?

NDK is really great. It's a small con, which makes it a seem a lot more open and welcoming to new fans. It's sort of lost it's 'anime only' standards, too, which makes for a lot of fandoms being represented. I certainly enjoy it.

The quest got started last year, but it only had a few people. This year, you first talked to a guy with a blue question mark. He gave you a mission, of finding Gemna Seuss. After you found him, he gave you a mission to find one of two people. When you found them, you had to give them pocky, then they gave you a new clue. So, it was mostly just looking for NPCs, and finding things for them. It was really great.
