Last night I was just kinda slapped in the face by a flood of inspiration, which prompted me to work on the 100 sketch challenge. It happened again this morning. So today I have a large sketch dump for you guys.

No. 4 - Dark. This is murmur. She's kinda my anti muse, or 'tummy monster', if you will. She's sort of what I think when I think of darkness and doom and stuff. She's depression and self loathing. But oddly enough, I wasn't depressed when I drew this. This was practice drawing from photo reference, as that's a mirror in a hall in my house, and my living room behind it.

No. 5 - Seeking Solace. An older priest looking for comfort in God. I was trying to use him for cross-hatching practice, but it came out as fail. >(

No. 6 - Break Away. Attempt to make a point using very simple lines and curves. A young woman is going against the norm of being viewed as an object.

No. 7 - Heaven. A soldier's last resting place, maybe? I dunno. Mostly practice with trees.

No. 8 - Innocence. I have NO CLUE. :B

No. 9 - Drive. I feel like watching Bull Durham. And I think that's supposed to be a city in the background, but I botched it pretty badly.

No. 10 - Breath Again. *Slow Baywatch run*

No. 11 - Memory. DeVotchKa is love.
Tomorrow I start going to driving school. I'm finally gonna get my learners permit. Ick.
Also, it looks like I'll have a job... right in time for school to start up again. And they want me to work 10-6 both Saturday and Sunday. Where I am not allowed to sit down, read, or do homework. Where I get no set breaks to go and chill for ten minutes. Where I only get a 30 minute lunch break. aghfjlghfjk but I need money. I'm going to talk to them, see if I can't work afternoons during the week, and one weekend day. I'm also going to have to ask for a weekend off each month for a while; mid September I'll need off so I can go to NDK (I've already paid for all three days, and have invested money in a costume, and can't get a refund on any of it), mid October so I can go visit a college, Thanksgiving weekend so we can go to my sister's place, and December for Christmas. It would be a lot easier to trade shifts for one person on one weekend day, rather then both and have to work every day during the week to make up the hours.
But I've worked there before, and the bosses are pretty good about scheduling around high schooler's schedules. (But they also want me to work Tues, Weds, Thurs weekdays, but I need one of those days off to do martial arts.)

Date: 2008-07-31 03:14 am (UTC)Wow. That's.. shitty, as far as the job goes. Eibborn's right; that sort of schedule might be against your local labor laws, so I'd check on it. Though, admittedly, lots of shady stuff happens in smaller companies and jack gets done about it.
It might be good to tolerate until you are out of high school, or just to have something to put on a resume` when you go out looking for another job. :T
Good luck. Money is so annoying.

Date: 2008-07-31 04:48 am (UTC)Yeah, I've kind of wondering about it. Just one six hour day and then four 3 hour days aren't that bad, but two six hour days and three three hour days would... not be good. Especially since I've got bad knees.
And I really need money, since my parents are sort of forcing me to get a car. And there's that whole college thing...
