art days are back! maybe!

Heeeey, it's been a while since I've done an art post. Probably because I didn't do too much art in June. So, hey, let's do one of those.

First off, the sketch for my entry into the Inhuman fan art contest. Finished version can be found here.

Just a quick sketch of my time traveler OC Rei.

Doodle of a Team Magma grunt. Of the various villain teams in Pokemon, I think that Magma was the most threatening (Aqua could be equally threatening, but I only played Ruby, so I don't know). I mean, if you think about it, these guys were freaking eco-terrorists. They had really sinister motivations compared to Team Rocket's "Let's just steal a bunch of pokemon and run a casino" and Team Galactic's... um. What was Galactic's motivation, exactly? I never really could figure it out. Anyways. Team Magma Grunt, looking a little dominatrix-y, in my opinion.

A jolteon and a leafeon. So, for a while my favorite eevee-lutions were flareon and umbreon. Until I decided to challenge the Elite Four for the third or fourth time in Diamond with an all-eevee evolution team. I've come to be quite found of my leafeon and jolteon (named Oz and Jack, respectively). They're both quite powerful and kind of adorable. Also, back in 4th grade, I totally called it that eventually we'd get a grass type and that it would be called leafeon.

After looking through Project: Rooftop I decided to redesign some of my own superhero characters, starting with St. Michael, a badass normal Jew who dresses up like an arch angel to kick ass and take names. This is the original design, which, while using the colors I like for him and getting some elements down that I really like (short cape, lower-face mask, goggles, wing motif on the chest) it just never seemed quite right. It looks too much like modern body armor, while it should look more like something out of a classic painting. Still working on the design.

Also redesigning St. Michael's sidekick, a gravity manipulating teen called Flux. (Original design here.) I'm actually pretty happy with the original design, I just don't really like the original gloves and while I like the looks of the boots, I realized that those would be kind of difficult to move in. Also just experimenting with odd poses.

That's about it. Not much to talk about lately. I'm going to one last showing of Rocky Horror tomorrow, though, which will be awesome.
