Back in NM for school, ugh. Actually, I came back last night, because this morning I had to take a Teaching Basic Skills test. Which is a standardized test would-be teachers have to take before becoming accepted in the College of Education of most schools in NM. I think I did fine on it, really. Reading comprehension/grammar portion was incredibly easy, and the math part was actually not that bad. Get my scores back in February, so I'm eagerly waiting for that.
I have some arts today! Lots of it, actually. I don't know what it was, but I was drawing a lot over the break.
First up, a derpy thing. I wanted to be like the cool kids, so I made myself a trollsona for Homestuck. And have an outlet for my geology nerdery. This is Rayhan Brecia (Rayhan after Abu Ahl-Rayhan, an early Islamic geologist, Brecia after the rock type breccia). Her symbol is an alchemy symbol for 'sulfur' (which I've made a necklace of I'M SUCH A NEEEERD). Her horns are 'z' shaped to evoke a crack, and her glasses have a crack in one lens, both linking back to earthquakes. Trollian username is tectionicTurtle; her blood is green; her lusus is a giant tortoise with a mountain on its back.
And I've rambled way too much about that, let's move on.
Two very old characters of mine; the faun Demie on the left, and the human('s who happen to have big pointy ears in that verse) Elaine. Just something cute. The coloring was a big of an experiment, I like how it came out.
An allosaurus hunting a brontosaurs and a conquistador, done on request for my dad.
Did I mention I got the special edition re-release of Batman Beyond on DVD for Christmas? Because I did. So, in sort-of honor for that, three of the ladies of BB. From the left: Dana, Max, and the new Catwoman from the comics whose civilian name I don't think has been revealed.
Sketch of the Guardians of Time, since I haven't drawn them all together in... ever. From the left: Puck, Kanika, and Rei. I was going to draw them full-body to show their heights compared to one another (Puck - 5'3", Kanika - 6'0", Rei - 5'6") but don't have the motivation to finish it.
So that whole astrology change thing made me want to draw some trolls. I've been wanting to do fan art for Homestuck for a while, but wasn't really motivated. But wanting to be a Capricorn compelled me to draw Gamzee, the Capricorn troll... as a sea-goat.
Also tried to draw that watery Aquarius asshole Eridan, but I kind of hate how this was turning out, so I may just scrap it and start over.
School starts Tuesday. Wheeeee
